Subject: | [amigactive] Yes! Solved at last! |
Hi all,
You may or may not remember, but over the past few months I have had various
problems with various things on my Miggy. E.g. Corrupt archives when
creating CD's, and ABackup not compressing only crashing.
I thought I had tracked down this problem to a memory issue. I was wrong. it
was an earthing issue!
Those people who have put their miggy's in towers will know what I am about
to refer to:
When towering up an Amiga there are certain earthing point on the
motherbaord to the chassis of the tower. One of these is by the CPU edge
connector,. Now it appears that somehow the screw has got stripped on my
tower, thus not making good contact with the chassis - thus causing the
problem.
At the moment I ahave solved it with the use of sticky tape and an elastic
band. I kid you not!
If anyone has a suggestion has to solve this in the long term (Other than
replace the screw, It is part of a column support, which I don't think will
be easy to replace) then I would much appreciate it!
regards
Lewis
